Thanksgiving PSA

Get all your Thanksgiving grocery shopping done now!  In truth, there are very few things you have to wait to buy until the last minute.  I’m waiting to buy arugula and that is about it.  And let’s be honest, I’d rather skip the salad all together so there may not be any arugula necessary.

Those rolls are still cold from the freezer at Trader Joe’s and they are going straight into my freezer.  Those mushrooms will be washed and stored in a brown paper bag.  We all know how to clean our berries by now to make them last, right?

Also,  get that turkey out of the freezer and throw it in the fridge.  It will take at least 3 days (for a 10-15 lb bird) to thaw and it is fine sitting in your fridge for a few days before you open up the bag to prep.

Don’t forget you can make some chicken stock (gravy base) early.  Here is how you can do it with what you clean from the turkey.  I actually did it last week with the leftover bones from a rotisserie chicken I bought.  That is also, of course, in my freezer.  Just let it keep reducing and reducing to concentrate the flavor.
