Brioche French Toast

French Toast is not hard to make at all but for some reason I almost always save it for the weekend. There really isn’t a great reason for this. If I can make scrambled eggs on a weekday morning I shouldn’t have any problem making French toast on a weekday morning. But I don’t. We don’t usually top it with anything out of this world either; slap on some butter and drizzle with syrup and we are good to go. It’s always better with some fresh berries but if we don’t have those, butter and syrup will do just fine.IMG_9163

However, we had one glorious weekend where all the stars must have aligned. We always have syrup, bread and butter (obviously). We often have berries. But this weekend was like… well I don’t know what. For some reason I bought a loaf of Brioche bread at Aldi. I don’t know why I would have done that but I did. We had a jar of Nutella in the pantry. And the piece de resistance, I had just made lemon curd. Well, what’s a girl to do but make some brioche French toast. The possibilities were endless. I don’t know if it gets any better!IMG_9152

Everyone can top however they like whether it is chocolate…IMG_9158

Or lemon curd and berries…IMG_9162 3

Wouldn’t this be a perfect treat for your mom for Mother’s Day!  Just remember, you have to do ALL the dishes too.  It’s not really a treat for mom if she has to clean up.
