It seems like just yesterday I was sending my girls off to their first day of 2nd grade.  I had a little box of cupcakes I had made for their teachers.  Just what teachers want on the first day of school: random stuff they have to find a place for, right!  But we were having a total solar eclipse and everyone was crazy excited.  So I made an eclipse cake and cupcakes.

The phenomenon was truly amazing.  If you are lucky enough to experience it or even close enough to see it with a little drive, DO IT!!!  I was alone on my back patio wearing my little eclipse glasses. At the time we lived really close to the elementary school.  When it happened it was bizarre!  It started getting dark, all the cicadas started chirping, the 600 kids started cheering and (not shockingly) I started crying.
