And they’re off…
Tomorrow is the big day, the 150th running of the Kentucky Derby!! We were lucky enough to visit Churchill Downs over spring break this past March.

The derby is known for horses, hats and mint juleps. I am NOT a whiskey/bourbon person but… when in Rome…

Guess what, I liked it!! Not only did I like my mint julep, it came in this fantastic commemorative glassware. I will be drinking something out of my 150th Kentucky Derby glass every derby until I die. Not always a mint julep, maybe just water or my beloved Squirt. But still, I will be celebrating. I just need a fantastic fascinator. Sadly I didn’t splurge on this one that was available in the gift shop. Oh well.

Are you going to be sipping on a mint julep tomorrow? Click Here for the official recipe from The Kentucky Derby. I’ve also copied the recipe for you below. It includes a mocktail version! Enjoy!
