Easy, Fast and Impressive! You don't need much to grill The Perfect Steak!

Ideally, you will have time to pull your steak out of the fridge and let it come to room temperature. If not, just add a couple minutes to the cooking time. Drizzle the steak with olive oil and rub it all over. Season both sides with salt, pepper and garlic powder (I use a lot of garlic powder, I'm Italian). Dredge the edges of the steak in the seasonings left on your work surface so they get flavored too.
Have a hot grill ready to go.
Put the steak on a hot grill and don't touch it! For a super thick steak I cooked it for about 9 minutes total, flipping halfway through for medium-rare (and I keep the lid to the grill closed).
When cooked to your desired temperature remove from the grill and place on a cutting board. Cover it with a piece of foil and LET YOUR MEAT REST for about 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes, move to a plate or slice and serve.
