Today is our 16th anniversary. Oh, how I love this man of mine…
I don’t sleep. So when we woke up this morning, we were not together. I had moved downstairs to the couch at 4am and tried to sleep there. Do you know what he did? He started playing “Happy Anniversary,” by Little River Band throughout the whole house. Before he came downstairs.
The girls were already up and at ’em in the kitchen. I was still wishing I was asleep on the couch and then this song started playing. I started laughing so hard! It was so sweet and thoughtful. He came down and he and the girls started dancing in the kitchen. Then I joined them. It will always be one of the greatest anniversaries ever and it wasn’t even 7am. This is already one of my favorite memories of all time.
Marriage is awesome and hard and comforting and frustrating and boring and amazing and scary and safe. I write some version of this in almost every card I give newly married couples. It is constant work but with the right person it is totally worth it! Thanks for choosing me. I love you husband!
